It works!

1 month later...

down 1 pound, lol
waist is 3 inches smaller!
Hips are 1 inch smaller
Thigh is down half an inch
Chest is UP half an inch...

I am a perfect V at the moment....chest being biggest, then waist, then hips, but all are within 5 inches of each other....

Anywho, just wanted to check in and say somethings working....not sure what but I will take it :)

Some of the boys, some of me

We took James and Nate to the pool tonight. We found James's old swimsuit from his first summer and it fits Nate soooo, we brought Nate in with us this time. Didn't think to much of the water honestly, neither good nor bad, just was...until he started to get cold. Thankfully our pool is at our gym and they have an indoor section with a pool that is 94 degrees year round...nice bath water temperature. Warmed Nate right up and he even wiggled around in the water some.

Starved from our adventures we wandered over to Chili's where James ate his share of cheese fries and over half his bowl of mac n cheese (one of his favorites). Honestly, James is a good eater when he wants to eat. We have been cutting back his liquid intake in an attempt to get him to eat more regularly. I feel bad telling him he can't have anymore milk or juice until he eats something but most of the time he is just drinking to drink. I've found I am able to distract him from wanting a drink with other activities until he is ready to eat something at which time I give him a drink without him asking. Sounds odd but hopefully this way he won't continue his liquid diet which results in really soggy diapers..

Yes, we are full fledge back in diapers. He prefers to sit in his stuff and will even tell me "no, I do not have a poopie" when I can clearly smell it. I've taken to showing him the poopie when I change him so he knows it was really there and that it really is gross to sit in it. Maybe by time he is 3...I would love for him to go to classes and preschool but nada till he is potty trained...

Otherwise James is doing great. Loves gymnastics. Suprised the heck out of me the other day when he did a perfect sommersault all on his own. Now, we had been working on it but he had never tucked his head and rolled over on his own, I was usually holding feet and it became more of a headstand to flip thing. Nope, he figured it out on his own, just like he figured out how to put the battery cover to the Tivo remote back on all by himself. Super smart kid. Physically especially but he is catching up verbally. Full sentences, coherent thoughts of his own making, conversations on the phone...a real understanding of communication and a willingness to learn new words and use them correctly.

Now Nate is 2 months old and just blossoming. Loves the bouncy doorway swing and enjoys being upright whether being helped by us or standing in the walker/excosauser. He just stands and watches. James used to do the same thing at this age but Nate seems stronger...maybe because we are more willing to let him try things now, like the pool. With your firstborn you do tend to coddle and not push..typically.

Nate also enjoys belly time and is really starting to push his upper body up with his arms. I think he wants to play with James very badly :) Nate also loves sleeping and is a pro. I couldn't ask for a better baby. We settle him into his bed as often as possible and I wonder if that is part of the reason...

Me? I'm about to start week 4 of post natal bootcamp with Lindsay Brit. No weight loss specifically but I can feel some toning beginning to happen. My diet still is not great but I am trying and will get better...maybe. It's tough. Before I met my husband I had not gained nor lost weight for nearly 10 years. I fluxuated within a five lb radius no matter what I did, walking the streets of Philly, playing rugby, being vegetarian and living on Mcdonalds fries for months....then I got pregnant. So, I can gain weight apparently but losing is tough. I know if I can get some excess weight off that I will be able to maintain it though and that is heartwarming..

So, back to work in a few days. I'll be starting midweek to kind get back into the flow of things and starting back fulltime the week after. First things first though...birthday weekend. I am not a big partier nor do i like making a big deal about me ( my wedding day was one of the few times i went crazy but you're supposed to). I think I've worked on my birthday more then not(not just day shift) and never really minded. Last year my in-laws were going to throw me a suprise party while we were at the beach but I didn't want to stick around the whole week so D ended up telling me about it and I changed their plans..I felt bad about it. So, we will be sharing a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake (all I really want for my birthday) with my in-laws tomorrow and then sharing a breakfast with my parents and sis on sunday. Quite a lot for me but I like splitting it up and having little chunks at a time.

So, we are doing well and I will probably begin to write more once I am back working again. I'm going to miss being home but...I will enjoy working too. My goal...3 years to being a mostly stay at home mom again, work some evening or flexible type thing if I can but home to see James off to school, and home to pick him up...3 years.

Me, wow, still can't believe it!

Somewhere I have a shot of me at 40 weeks, huge, large and wobbling around. Did I mention I worked through that friday before Nate was born. People at work stopped with the joking and it became more of a "I'm not sticking around, I don't know anything about birthing a baby(usually from the guys)". My reply was always 'Call my husband, he'll know what to do in case I am unconscious or something...'

Anywho, here is 39 weeks preggo. Like I mentioned before 260 pounds at birth (maybe a few over that...) and I never thought I'd feel normal again....

but, bodies are amazing. Still not teeny but on my way to being smaller at least. Goal is 190 (pre-preggo weight with James) anything less is bonus.

Right now I am 227...over 30 pounds in just over 2 weeks. Mostly water weight. I have ankles again, huzzah! So, 40 pounds to go. Active 2 year old and house that needs taking care of whill hopefully help. That and the gym..gonna try to get there by the end of the week!
(don't mind the messy kids room in the background)

Updates

Let's see, it has been a very busy week what with being away and then the snow. Well, we got most of the driveway cleaned off yesterday...yes, 3 days after the snow. It was very packed down ice, lol, but I was able to help chip awat at it some. My chiropractor would be mad at me though. She had been glad to hear I did not help with the snow on Wednesday...oh well.

Speaking of chiropractor shes says I am looking better and responding well to the treatment! Yea. So I have gone from incapacitating pain (level 10) to like level 3. She doesn't want to see me for 2 weeks now instead of twice a week or even once a week. Yea! I am being more careful and I think the gym is really helping too.

Speaking of the gym, we went and met with a Personal Trainor last night. We get 4 free sessions (approx 200 value) each and I really wanted to take advantage of it. Being pregnant I am more of a special case but I was affirmed when our PT says he has worked with pregnant women before and looks forward to giving me some good advice.

So last night it was the meet and greet whats you medical history/food habits look like. So we talked through a bunch of stuff while James sat and colored and figured out we really aren't doing that badly. He has some suggestions but will work in small steps with us.

First things is to up our intake at breakfast. It really is better to eat a med-large breakfast then a med-large dinner. So...what does D do? Boiled eggs...they are cooking away right now per the PT's suggestion. :)

Secondly just up our activity level. Just by coming to the gym 2-3 nights will make a big difference, especially for D. The PT thinks D can level his BFI real quick which would be good and to then focus on actual weight loss. Though, D isn't that high above where he should be percentage wise, Yea! My hubby is really healthy!!

I being pregnant was not so easy to test for. He offered to do the pinch test on me. He pulled on my arm, hip, and thigh. Well, for those of you who know me I am seriously ticklish in my legs and have very little fat from the hips down...meaning, finding a pinch on my hips and thigh were not easy. He managed and calculated a 25.6.....Ha! That is not right. Last time I checked was in September(our scale has an option that I can't use right now) and I was well over 35% which is technically obese. lol. Guess I won't know for sure till this babe is born.

Speaking of the babe, I haven't mentioned him much on here but we are having a boy. I am meeting with a friend who has some Interior Design background to help me design a good room for the boys. I am no good at it and I think she will have a good concept of a style I would like :) Yea! I never got to make a room for James as a babe so this will be more for him as a toddler with thoughts of Nathaniel in there as well.

Yes, Nathaniel is the proposed name for our little boy and I don't see it changing. I knew James would be a James before he was even conceived. I like having the name early on....this child is real from day one and deserves a name you know?

anywho, I have a naked child currently calling for my attention. I think D went outside to shovel more....sigh. Got to wake up. Have a great weekend all!! I will attempt to post either ultrasound or pics from our trip sometime next week. For now, know we are all mostly healthy (D has been sick) and doing well.
